This event is aimed to bring and create a welcoming community for all the new students and returning students as we kickoff the upcoming school year. There will be a tote making event, succulent station, a chalkboard name tag event, outdoor games and bingo, pizza and Kona ice will be served.

All new students- come be a part of the 4th Side! UVA fans everywhere are an extension of the sidelines, a part of the "4th Side". Meet Coach Elliott and UVA football players at Scott Stadium for a good old fashion pep rally to kick-off the UVA Football season. Get your free, exclusive football t-shirt and learn the "The Good Old Song" from the Cavalier Marching Band. Be sure to bring your student ID and water bottle. 7:30 AM Gathering Time; 8:00 AM Run Begins
Observatory Hill Field  

Lace-up your sneakers and join President Jim Ryan on a run/walk followed by snacks and mingling with fellow classmates. Students must bring their University ID and are strongly encouraged to bring their own water bottles. All attendees will receive a commemorative “Run with Jim” t-shirt while supplies last. GLOBAL GREETERS FARMER'S MARKET TRIP

Meet at the UVA Chapel Bus Stop at 9:30 AM/First group leaves ~9:45 AM, Second group leaves ~10:10 AM  

International students are invited to join the Global Greeters explore Charlottesville Downtown Mall and its Farmer’s Market! There will be an opportunity to see some common spots to dine, walk, and enjoy with friends outside of the University!

Start your morning with the calm, grounding, and fluid movements of T'ai Chi, a martial art form developed in China centuries ago for self-defense. Aside from the physical benefits of T'ai Chi, the slow, continuous, and flowing movements of the practice lower stress; help you sleep better at night; promote resilience; and enhance focus and concentration. No prior experience required!

Melt away your stress and get ready for the week ahead. A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience that uses sound to nurture your mind and body. While laying still, you’ll be washed with sounds created by a range of instruments to encourage a meditative state. Please bring your own yoga mat or towel if you have one. No experience needed!

Residential Leader Experience Day is a fun and rewarding bonding opportunity that engages Senior Residents and Resident Leader Experience representatives and aims to explore the various facets of inclusive community building and leadership identity development. Members of RLE will help build inclusive and welcoming communities and connect residents with each other and the rest of UVA and Charlottesville community. During RLE Day, representatives will have the opportunity to meet others and brainstorm programs that they would like to host through for their fellow residents. It will be held on Saturday, September 21st. Time and location TBA.
