Each school has a distinct process for handling the academic aspects of your transition to UVA. Please view the links below for your school to learn more. 

The College of Arts & Sciences

The College of Arts & Sciences points all new students toward their Student Guide for information about course advising and enrollment. Please be sure to select "New Student Checklist" if you are just starting your time at UVA.

The School of Engineering & Applied Science

The School of Engineering & Applied Science points their students to their Summer Advising and Enrollment website for information about courses, AP/IB/Dual Enrollment credit, and course scheduling tools.

The School of Education & Human Development

The School of Education & Human Development encourages their students to visit their New Student Guide website for information about the start of their UVA experience.

The School of Architecture

New undergraduate students should attend the Session E (July 18-19) UVA orientation. Students who cannot attend Session E should attend the Session K (August 20-22) UVA orientation. The School of Architecture will email all new undergraduate students details about academic advising and course registration. Contact Director of Advising & Academic Support Tashana Starks ([email protected]) with questions about academic advising or course registration.

The School of Architecture will hold a mandatory orientation for all new students on Monday, August 26. Details about this event will be emailed to new students by August 1. Contact Student Affairs ([email protected]) with questions about orientation or acclimating to the A-School.

The School of Nursing

The School of Nursing New Student Pages will answer many questions that new students in the School of Nursing will have about coming to UVA.
