Welcome to UVA everyone!! My name is Maddie (she/her) and I am a rising second year in the School of Engineering, majoring in Biomedical Engineering on the pre-medical track. I am also minoring in Spanish and planning to study abroad in Valencia next spring to improve my fluency and experience the culture! I’m a NOVA kid from Manassas, VA, which is about a 2-hour drive from Grounds. You’re going to love the Charlottesville community, and it’s very easy to make friends here, even if you aren’t normally that outgoing! As for what I do in my free time, I fence Sabre for the school fencing club (because sword fighting is awesome and I watched Monty Python and The Holy Grail too many times). I also dance contemporary at VDC, go shooting, play piano, guitar, and go on morning runs! This summer I'll be volunteering as an EMT as well as being your OL, so if you have questions about emergency work, just ask me! I am so excited to meet all of you this summer and to kickstart your first year at UVA! LET'S GOOOO!!
